Post-State Employment

Are you preparing to leave state service?

Employees who retire or leave UConn should be aware of the Post-State Employment rules in the State Code of Ethics.

These rules — often called "revolving door" provisions — include both lifetime and one-year restrictions on certain activities after leaving state service.

General Provisions

1. You may never use confidential UConn information for personal or financial gain.

2. For one year after leaving, you may not represent or negotiate on behalf of any company doing business with UConn.

3. If you were involved in a UConn contract of $50,000 or more during your final 12 months, you may not accept employment with any party to that contract for one year.
